The distinguished gentlemen of The Hengles have more than earned their musical spurs in the past. The guys from Amsterdam: Erwin Wolters, Maarten Heijblok, Paul van Rijswijk and Dirk Portegies played in illustrious 80s and 90s bands like Fatal Flowers, Treble Spankers, Supersub and Jack Of Hearts. Since 2015 they represent The Hengles, a band specialized in the better cover stuff. In addition they are active as backing band both live and in the studio of various artists such as Julia P.
So I Say No, the new single of The Hengles, is like its predecessor Wintertime yet another proof of their skills in writing and making pure melodic jingle-jangle Hengle pop with a twist, taking you on a trip down memory lane of more than 50 years of popular music history and blending this into their own style. Recording and mixing-sessions took place during February-March this year at their own Hok-P Recording Studio in Zwanenburg, The Netherlands. So I Say No is about the difficulty of dealing with opinions and unsolicited advice, holding you back and preventing you in doing what you like best. But, there is no better you. There is only YOU. To say YES sometimes you have to say NO first. So,
join The Hengles on their quest and say YES to So I Say No!
