Sarah McGuinness - Glad Your Gone (G&T Recs) House-Piano House

Originally released last year as the first track from her debut album, the epic ‘Glad You’re Gone’, by Sarah McGuinness, now meets overwhelming public demand with it’s re-release and the stonkin’ addition of mighty Stonebridge & Hall remixes; adding to the stellar line-up of the masterful Todd Terry and Rich B & Phil Marriott. Part 2 next week. Recommended by Kings and #jjkaneallnewmusicshow ‘Glad Your Gone’, was written as a big foot-stomping anthem of righteous anger and empowerment, depicting that twisting point when love becomes emotional manipulation and spirals into bullying. Friends, lovers, parents and children – people of all ages fall into the trap of stepping beyond their own personal comfort in a quest to appease those close to them.

‘Glad Your Gone’ is a joyously furious track, set at that moment between rage and sorrow when you know the manipulation is over and you can’t take any more; yet a spark of emancipated inspiration sets you free. Inspired by Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’, McGuinness ensures that her deep rich vocals command an anthemic song which will become a melodic chant for many years to come.
