The Remixers

BLAKKAT The Blakkat edit of the Lucas Frota remix is a haunting slice of tribal funk full of disembodied voices and intoxicating rhythms. Los Angeles-based Blakkat, who is known for founding Shaboom Records with Doc Martin, has also collaborated with King Britt, DJ Sneak, and sisters Chaka Khan and Taka Boom. He has remixed A Tribe Called Quest, New Order, Jamiroquai and Moloko. He is also a former member of Mercury prize winners M People.

LUCA FROTA The Lucas Frota remix goes deeper still into tribal funk territory. It is the latest synthesis of baile funk and tech house from the Los Angeles-based Brazilian producer/DJ who has also remixed LIzzo, Armand Van Helden, DJ Sneak, Snoop Dogg and George Clinton.

DAVE THE HUSTLER For his retouch, Swiss producer, radio host, and Paparazzi Records owner Dave the Hustler punches up the new wave/electro vibes. Dave has previously worked with Cassy, Miss Kittin, Felix the Housecat, and Detroit Grand Pubahs.

WETWORKS

The punishing Wetworks remix is much darker in tone, with a heavy industrial edge, as can be expected from Xavier Swafford of LA industrial band 3teeth and Johnny Love, founder of Soft Leather, LA’s weekly fetish and techno party. Johnny Love is also the founder of the fitness movement Healthgoth, and has released music under the monikers Deathface on Trouble & Bass, and Guns N Bombs on Kitsune.
