OLIVER FROST - MIXES & REMIXES

„Who can see, can make photographs. But it can take a long time to learn to see.“

Similar to that you could make a statement about listening.

Oliver Frost (a passionate chauffeur by profession) is one of the persons who can do both and who has intensified and cultivated both. The photographer and musician from Berlin started his musical career as keyboard player of the Berlin based band Growing Tree. After the stopover “FROST & WAGNER” in the early 2000’s, he started his solo career, that he builds until today. On this way he met with well known artists like Jan Delay, Tosca, Joy Denalane, Jah Wobble, Ken Boothe, The Black Seeds, Tackhead, Jazzanova and many others.

He is an artist who likes to know exactly what’s going on and who’d like to freeze certain moments of high standard. In his compositions he has a clear position, that he creates with influences from jazz, soul, reggae, pop, and avantgarde. A soundscape, that is connecting the realities of the sound and vision in a complex and precise way, and that creates an intimate atmosphere. He is brilliant in the depth of the sound and the acuity of the colour and grants the listener a deep look into his soul. On this album you can find his mixes and remixes (for Tackhead, Jazzanova, and Fetsum), eclectic pop with strong voices (Bernard Fowler, Fetsum, ...) and a poetic impression into pop music (also with strong voices by Astrid, North, Inga Lüning und Carlton Hines).

As Max Ernst once said: „Art has nothing to do with taste“.
