Cork-based pop musician Ruth Brosnan is back with another high energy dance track! The song, ‘Electric Gold’, will be released on November 20th, 2020. Electric Gold is up-tempo and influenced by a mixture of 80s and modern electronic elements.

Ruth was inspired by the different effects of the COVID-19 pandemic for the lyrics of the song, from the restrictions we all face to the endurance of the front-line and key workers. The message of the song is to provide hope and escapism in the uncertain times that we face but also to reassure that we can survive this period of social isolation. Electric Gold will be accompanied by an animated music video that depicts how people from all walks of life have become superheroes during these difficult times.

“It's about realizing that we are all our own heroes and will overcome these tough times and emerge together stronger. It is a shot of adrenaline to all of those obeying the rules so far to keep on going and a thank you/acknowledgement to frontline staff.”

Ruth Brosnan studied at CIT Cork School of Music in Ireland where she graduated with a First-Class Honors BA in Popular Music in June 2018 and has since gone on to hone her craft in Los Angeles, it was here she entered one of her own songs in The Great American Song Contest and was delighted to win a place as a finalist in the Inspirational category. Inspired she returned to her hometown to pursue her music career, releasing her debut single, Good Enough.

Good Enough was launched across multiple music platforms and got thousands of streams on Spotify and Youtube. It also got great exposure on radio stations and across popular music blogs. IndulgeMe made the song their ‘Track of the week’; Pure Magazine had her at number one on their Spotlight Chart and Irish music bible Hot Press said, “The extremely moving track and accompanying video came from a very personal place”. The track came from a very personal place for Ruth, reflecting on how she lost her mother to suicide when she was 14 years old.

Good Enough was followed in August 2020 by ‘Toodle-oo’, a more upbeat track on the surface but also dealt lyrically with important subjects.

“Her newest single released on August 14th 2020, shows not only her wicked sense of humor but also her diverse songwriting ability, promoting themes of strength and female empowerment with a highly melodic and upbeat pop tune.” New Frequencies

Electric Gold will be available to stream on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Play, Tidal, Deezer and Apple Music. You can watch the music video on Vevo/Youtube/Facebook/IGTV.
